Dublin, Ireland 24 October 2012: Brite:Bill, provider of a leading customer communications platform, today announced that eircom is now live after completing the first phase of its electronic bill presentment and payment service (EBBP).
eircom’s new EBBP service provides an entirely new customer experience. It lets customers view and analyse their bill in a new way, helping them to better understand their usage and spend, and presenting them on one easy to view webpage.
“We have been implementing Brite:Bill’s electronic bill presentment and payment technology in phases,” said Dervilla Mullan, Director of Online, eircom. “Each phase offers significant benefits to our customers.”
“We chose Brite:Bill primarily because we wanted to be able to offer different customer experiences to different types of customers and for different services,” continued Ms Mullan. “We also wanted a single system which could provide the ability to present bills in whatever way our customers prefer. The multi-phase project will ultimately support our quad play consumer offerings allowing customers to access all their billing information in a personalised and consolidated view.”
The eircom project is being implemented in parallel with the on-going development of a new billing system, and the Brite:Bill product will be used to transition from legacy systems without the customer experience being changed.
“Unclear or confusing bills can account for up to 40% of calls to call centres,” said Alan Coleman, CEO, Brite:Bill. “Because the bills are now presented clearly, these calls will be significantly reduced. In the future it will also help eircom drive paperless billing and reduce postage and print costs, as well as improve customer loyalty.”
eircom is the first to market in Ireland with this system and, in line with offering the best services for customers, is soon to launch quad play services to the market.
